Antonio Maio is an information security professional with over 25 years of experience in cyber security practices and systems, product management, team leadership and software development. Antonio is currently an Associate Director and Senior Enterprise Architect with Protiviti. He has received a Microsoft MVP Award (most valuable professional) for 6 consecutive years (2012 to 2017) specializing in Microsoft Office Server and Services (Office 365 and SharePoint). Antonio graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in computer science and mathematics. His varied background includes in-depth knowledge of cryptography, public key infrastructure, information security technology and security best practices. His broad knowledge and experience with Microsoft SharePoint extends over the last 10 years and focuses on solving security challenges for enterprise customers, military organizations and governments.

Bill offers over 20 years’ experience in envisioning, designing and implementing both custom solutions and commercial software products built on Microsoft technologies such as the .NET Framework, WF, WPF, WCF, SQL Server, IIS and SharePoint. Often serving in the role of a Senior Solution Architect, he has focused on delivering SharePoint-based solutions to Protiviti customers for the last 7 years.  Bill is also an experienced Nintex consultant and regularly instructs both Nintex Workflow and Forms courses.
In addition, he has trained many organizations in the use, administration and custom component development of their SharePoint environments.  He is skilled in presenting technical topics to non-technical audiences, and keeping students engaged.​

He spent the next few years working within core infrastructure and security services, until he found SharePoint. He now works as a Solution Architect for Protiviti in Virginia. His core focus is to ensure that SharePoint can either natively or with minimal customization meet the business requirement. He is also an ten time SharePoint MVP focusing on Architecture but also crosses the boundary into Development. His specialty over the past few years has been security in SharePoint and its surrounding platforms. He can often be found at user groups or conferences speaking, offering advice, spending time in the community, teaching his kids how to code, raspberry PI programming, hacking the planet or building Lego robots.
